“I love helping my patients here in my local community see better every day, but helping people see better who have such advanced disease that they are functionally blind is a truly amazing privilege.” – Dr. Kelly Chung
Dr. Chung has traveled under the auspices of Health for Humanity to both Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Tirana, Albania, to teach local ophthalmologists how to do advanced cataract surgery. She has gone to Fiji to the Mission at Natuvu to provide eye care including cataract surgeries to the local under-served population and is a member of Surgical Eye Expeditions International, which provides sustainable medical, surgical, and educational services through volunteer ophthalmic surgeons with the objectives of restoring sight and preventing blindness to disadvantaged individuals worldwide.
During this season of giving we honor the volunteer efforts of Dr. Chung who has served locally and throughout the world to cure blindness. Thank you Dr. Chung!
