Dr. Chung is experienced in complex cataract surgery and advanced lens implant technology, including multifocal, toric and Crystalens intraocular lens implants. For 14 years, Dr. Chung was lead cataract surgeon and director of comprehensive ophthalmology at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She sees patients with cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye and other conditions.
Dr. Chung received her M.D. from Loma Linda University, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency. She is board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Chung has taught comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery to dozens of residents, and instructed eye surgeons around the world in new techniques. Portland Monthly magazine named her one of Portland’s top doctors three years running. Dr. Chung joined Oregon Eye Specialists in 2009.
“I love problem-solving and paying close attention to detail,” says Dr. Chung. “I also enjoy the relationships formed by taking care of patients over a lifetime.” Away from work, Dr. Chung is an avid runner, golfer, cyclist and skier. She and her husband Kerry, also an ophthalmologist, love to travel.
