Joseph D. Denman, M.D.

Offices: Aloha, Lake GroveJoe Denman, M.D.

“I am sorry to inform you that I am retiring from Ophthalmology for medical reasons, effective November 1st, 2012. My past 32 years in Ophthalmology have been among the most fulfilling years of my life. They have brought me tremendous rewards, both personally and professionally. It has been an honor and a privilege to be your physician. I have learned so much from you, my patients. Together we have faced your hardships, and seeing how you managed with strength, courage and humor has taught me much. Thank you for sharing these years with me.”
Sincerely,
Dr. Joe

Dr. Denman’s expertise includes glaucoma and diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. He is president of the Westside Surgery Center, where he performs cataract and eyelid surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in Oregon to implant toric, ReSTOR and Crystalens intraocular lenses. Dr. Denman is married to a dermatologist who practices across the hall from his office, giving him the opportunity to coordinate eyelid dermatitis care from an ophthalmic and dermatologic (skin) perspective. He believes nutrition, exercise and certain supplements are important for healthy vision and makes recommendations to help patients protect their sight.

Dr. Joe Denman received his M.D. from Tulane Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at Oregon Health & Science University. He is board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Denman has practiced ophthalmology for more than 25 years. With Dr. James Cech and Dr. Tim Denman, he founded Oregon Eye Specialists in 1991.

With Medical Teams International, Dr. Denman does cataract surgery for needy patients in Central America. His wife provides skin care and their two teenage daughters help with translation and patient care.
