Dr. Brown practices comprehensive ophthalmology with special interests in cataract surgery, diabetic eye care and glaucoma. He uses state of the art technology to treat and diagnose dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction utilizing meibomian gland imaging, Lipiflow and Lipiview.
Dr. Brown received his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and completed his ophthalmology residency at The Eye Institute, Medical College of Wisconsin. Before earning his M.D., he worked with the LaCrosse County Health Department and did scientific research at the UW-Madison. He also did research on ophthalmic lasers at The Eye Institute. Dr. Brown is board certified in ophthalmology. From 1997-2000, Dr. Brown practiced at Southwestern Eye Center in Yuma, Ariz. He joined Oregon Eye Specialists in 2000.
Over the last six years, Dr. Brown has been actively involved with Great Shape – iCare. Through their medical missions, the group provides much needed eye exams, glasses and even treatments to people in Jamaica. During their 2014 trip, they were able to provide 33 cataract surgeries in just four days.
Dr. Brown and his wife, Karin, met in medical school and love the Portland area. His recreational interests include most outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, sailing, biking and skiing.
