Christen K. Richard, M.D.
Dr. Richard practices general ophthalmology, caring for patients with cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye. She specializes in advanced no-stitch cataract surgery and does plastic surgery in the eye area.
A native of North Dakota, Dr. Richard received her M.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. She came west to complete her ophthalmology residency at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Richard is active in her chosen profession. She sits on the board of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology and is involved with the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Richard has taught eye surgery at the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center and at Casey Eye Institute. She has been with Oregon Eye Specialists since 2004.
Dr. Richard commutes to work by bike. In her free time, she enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, running and has completed two half marathons. She also likes cooking and spending time with her husband and young daughter. Dr. Richard has volunteered in Project Erase, a program that removes gang tattoos.
