Dr. Richard practices comprehensive ophthalmology. She cares for patients with cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye and performs oculoplastic surgery (plastic surgery in the eye area). She specializes in advanced techniques in topical, no-stitch cataract surgery.
Dr. Richard received her M.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. She is board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Richard serves on the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology board and is active in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She teaches eye surgery at the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center and is a clinical instructor at Casey Eye Institute. She joined Oregon Eye Specialists in 2004.
Dr. Richard has volunteered in Project Erase, a program that removes gang tattoos. She enjoys biking to work and on weekends, cross-country skiing, playing volleyball, cooking and spending time with her husband. She is currently training for a half marathon.
